(Registrar's note: The Anarquia Pirates started out very strong in the Spring campaign but struggled to a fifth place finish by game's end. The verbose Black Sam Bellamy provides his perspective on the scenario, speaking on behalf of Edward Teach Blackbeard and himself).
Pirates don't need a game plan. Attack what is nearest & hope for the best.
Arrrgggghhhhh!
Major flaws:
1. Defense of home ports - impossible for pirates.
Port Royal, before the earthquake, was a formidable fortress.
Pirate ports had no defenses and pirates lacked the ability to construct, raise troops and man defenses!
2. We need new PATE code written for NWOLIII. We could have had 50 frigates, but one SL would win a battle.
This was not the case in reality. A weak Spanish SL could be taken out by an excellent 40 gun French frigate.
The new code should permit 3 or 4 frigates, acting as an attached unit, to sink a SL.
3. Repeat #2 with more emphasis!
