Early yesterday morning, France's esteemed Foreign Minister, Pierre Henri Hélène Marie Lebrun-Tondu, issued a statement explaining the mistaken border dispute which led to war between France and Switzerland. He assured the world that peace between the French and the Swiss was at hand. He now awaits the arrival of the Swiss leader, Albrecht Widmar, who has traveled to France to retrieve his brother (recently committed to a French lunatic asylum.) Once the two leaders meet, we have been assured that peace will be restored.

However, nine hours after LeBrun's conciliatory message, Prussia declared war on France using the false excuse that France was at war with Switzerland. We must ask, What is going on in Berlin? One probable answer is that the Prussian war-mongers (who dominate the government) wish to have war with France under any pretext. Why? Because these feudal lords fear the force of history. They fear the principles of our revolution. They fear liberty, equality and brotherhood. They fear for their future - a future in which men will rise to positions of eminence based on their talents and not on their birth. For this, they should be afraid.
