Easiest/Most difficult
This will be the last of this line of questioning, but I felt like rounding out the categories before we move on.
As a roundup...easiest major (used as a test poll) in a landslide was France.
Most difficult major (test poll) was Prussia.
Hardest minor was Holland followed closely by Naples.
None of them are easy
I think all the Minors are equally difficult. I can not really select one as being "easy"
Sweden has the advantage of the Baltic Sea as a barrier but suffers from a very small fiscal base. Holland is always a battleground. Naples has the worse troops - quality wise - in NWOL. Spain has the bad luck to border France and therefore has to follow in its orbit. Portugal, if not "adopted" by a Major has a undefendable border and an open seaward flank. Denmark parallels Sweden in its fiscal handicaps though it has the best position strategically.
None of the Minors are easy to play. They are too weak to go it alone and have to execute an offensive campiagn to gain VPs. That means they all are dependent on diplomatic relationships to get them in a position where they can be competitive rather than be cannon fodder.
