Le Drapeau Bleu de La Rochelle

Members of the Royal and Catholic Army have liberated the city of La Rochelle from the anti-clerical National Constituent Assembly. People in the street where heard to say that The Levy introduced by the National Convention earlier this year will not be exercised in this Vendean City. Parish churches in the area have been reinstating former priests back to their rightful duties, ignoring the Civil Constitution of the Clergy. Recruits have been pouring into the Vendée Militaire as the insurgency gains momentum. British Marines from the frigate Victor have been providing limited support and training for the Militia. Spanish cavalry support has also been noted.

It is understood that a Republican column under the command of General de Marcé has been dispatched to quell the uprising.
