My Players Blog

Hey All,

I am creating a "player blog" for myself that will operate under this user name (Matt Majewski). I intend on blogging regularly about anything related to my playing experience in HOLF games. I will also probably blog about my personal life (although I will try to keep it to stuff that has some relevance to HOLF, NWOL, ROTD, or history in general when I do). Your responses and participation are most appreciated. I have played NWOL since 2005, and I am a real fan of everything HOLF has had to offer during that time. As some of you know, I was selected as a volunteer Registrar for this Guild site in 2008. I have recently created a second account on this site, "Guild Registrar", and I will create a blog under that name as well. In order to distinguish between my duel roles as player/registrar, any post that I make in my capacity as HOLF Players Guild Registrar will from this point forward be under my new "Guild Registrar" account. My "Matt Majewski" account, and this blog, represents the views of me exclusively as a player. My "Guild Registrar" account will be used exclusively when I am performing Guild duties or functions, making official announcements, or posting any information related to Guild business or on the Registrar blog. But just in case there is ever any confusion, or if anyone cares, "Guild Registrar" is me as well.

With that out of the way...I will be staying in the Southern U.S. for the first time in my life (for two weeks) this Summer, and I am hoping to hit as many good historical attractions as possible during this time. I will be based out of the Greenville, South Carolina area, and I have trips to Charleston, Savannah, and Atlanta already planned (and hopefully a meal with Greenville local and our friend Steven Mathena in the works as well). If you live in, or have been to any of these places, or other must see sites within a 3-4 hour drive of my home base, please provide me with any and all recommendations (history, great restaurants/food, etc.) you have for this California Yankee. In addition, I will try to blog about my trip, including photos, etc along the way. So if there is anything you would like for me to report on or snap a few photos of, just let me know. Thanks to all and I hope you enjoy.
