I think we need to come up with a wider range of merit based awards, in order to preserve the meaning of the higher awards.
For example, being the architect of a winning strategy in a full NWOL game is more difficult than being the architect of the winning strategy of a single round of the Summer tournament. Yet currently the award is the same (MoE).
We should have medals to correspond with basic levels of achievement, (e.g. being responsible for winning a major battle, winning a campaign, or winning the game, etc) so it will be easy to come up what is an appropriate level of award for any situation, rather than a one size fits all approach.
Just my two cents.
