ROUND FOUR UPDATE: T4 has been run; T5 is scheduled for SUNDAY, JULY 25 at 8 P.M. EDT

T4 has been run and results should have been delivered to your inbox. If you see any problems or have any questions with results, please contact me at games2010@holf.org.

No match has been concluded this round as of yet, so T5 for everybody is scheduled for SUNDAY, JULY 25 at 8 P.M. EDT. If any team captain has issues or concerns with that deadline, please let me know ASAP and we'll push it back if need be. It looks like T4 was pretty crazy, and losses were heavy (I think around the 60,000 mark). So while all of the matches are still very much undecided, I want to provide a refresher on surrender and truces in the Summer Games in case either of these options are possibilities for any teams heading into T5.

Surrender - If the members of a team feel that there is no way to avoid their city being captured, or feel that there is no chance of recapturing their already lost city or occupying their opponent's home base, that team can surrender a match to their opponents anytime after T3, at which point that match is declared over. The team that received the surrender is declared the winner and is awarded two points in the overall game standings for a major victory. The losing team is issued a loss and zero points in the game standings.

Truce - If neither team has captured their opponent's city, or both teams have already lost their home base and do not believe a recapture is possible, both teams can agree on a truce anytime after T3. Once a truce is declared, the game ends immediately and the team with the higher VP gain during that match is declared the winner and receives one point in the overall game standings. The losing team is issued a loss and zero points in the standings.

compitulation

We could have taken Neurenberg this turn if our leaders (Robert) had not Chicken out. the Blue Hand was beaten. The Team followed his lead. My original tactic would have worked, if errors in assignments had not happened.

Capitulating

Could have, would have.... it is the dreamers lament. Because of the assignment errors, the ticket to success was not cashed in. In games of this sort, cash in when you are ahead and keep the pressure on the other guy. There is no need to keep swinging for the fences and risk striking out. The others see the sense in that. This is why they voted for the Truce.

TRUCES IN MATCHES

The White Company and Blue Hand have agreed on a truce in their round four matchup. Based on VP gain, the White Company (4-0, 6 points) is awarded the win. The Blue Hand moves to 2-2 (4 points).

The Green Guards and Black Legion have agreed on a truce in their round four matchup. Based on VP gain, the Green Guards (1-3, 1 point) is awarded the victory. The Black Legion falls to 1-3 (2 points).

The remaining round four match, the Red Band versus the Yellow Regiment, is still scheduled for a T5 this Sunday.

Nice Job.

Nice Job White Company.

From our view it was touch

From our view it was touch and go. By the way, you all have some very crafty moves and I promise to use them against you all in an NWOL game sometimes.

Finally...

... the losing streak is over.
