ROTD rules

I assume the ROTD rules are different than good old GITM, right? Is there a document or link for them?

Good Question

Great question, if I am going to be somewhat prepared for this experience it would be nice to have a jump start on the rules. Wish I had thought of it first Marcelo.

Thanks,

Carl

ROTD R&D link is at...

I think the rules pages are still incomplete at this stage...some of the more advanced rules may not be delineated or fully explained in these rules sections. And some have been transposed over from NWOL and the language has not been fine-tuned for the ROTD game yet. While Steve works hard at finishing parts of the game code, the update of the rules sections has to take a back seat at the time.

If you know how to play NWOL, the ROTD system is similar enough that you will be able to function just fine in that game too. But there are a number of new rules/changes (river movement, railroad movement, supply depots, bridges, pontoon bridges, river gunboats and forts, to name a few) and other nuances that new players should be aware of to get the full grasp of ROTD. These explanations will need to come from your more experienced team members or from some of the names on the census page at the link above for now.

rules differences

I am rather swamped at the moment, but if someone who played in a previous ROTD test (there have been two) is able and willing to put together a list of important differences between the two, please email me (don't reply here SVP) and we will make arrangements. I will make time to double-check it before releasing it.
