In order to illustrate and honor the playing career of each Guild member, the HOLF Players Guild will begin work on Guild "player pages" this Summer. Game Honor & Award ribbons, which will be a part of those pages, provide a visual representation of each game, and in some instances, help to tell the story of the contest or the final results. The awards/ribbons page can be accessed at http://www.holf.org/guild/drupal1/node/260 and is always available under Secondary Links as well.
The revised Players' Guild Awards system (like the original) is designed to acknowledge a HOLF Players' Guild member's game performance and history. All existing ribbons and awards have been retained and (in some cases) updated to fit the current game systems. Some ribbons have been created (for existing awards) and new (March 2009) awards have been constructed as well. The current mechanism for the awards is based primarily on participation in the NWOL and WBTS game systems.
Gentlemen,
This Forum will be devoted to the official announcement of Guild "Battle Stars" for NWOL2, NWOL3, and WBTS games from the 2007-2010 playing period until the actual Guild Registry Awards/Honors Page (under construction) is completed. Guild Battle Stars are awarded to members who played an active role in any significant engagement that is nominated, confirmed, and approved by Guild Membership and Administration. It is very possible for players to earn multiple Guild Battle Stars for their service in a single HOLF-sponsored game.
Once a new player has completed both the Site Profile AND the Guild Registry Application, he/she is officially a Guild Member and has all site privileges available to them. The Site Profile asks members about personal interests, demographics, and user information. The Registry Application asks about a member’s HOLF-gaming experience and pedigree. Most players who already had a previous HOLF Players Guild Forum account should resubmit a new Site Profile and Registry Application form since both have been revised.
This project will be conducted by the Guild Registrar with the approval of the HOLF Administration. I have often heard other players refer to various sources in their discussions about the gaming systems. I would like to start compiling initial lists of the best sources for each historical genre, as nominated and selected by our membership (or at least those that choose to vote). While our votes and lists are unofficial, they may be used by HOLF administrators or officially transferred over to the HOLF War College at a later date.
